This Privacy Notice explains how TheAIsound, a sole trader business trading as theaisound.com ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and safeguards your personal information when you use our Service. TheAIsound is the data controller responsible for the personal data described here. You can contact us at support@theaisound.com.
1. Information We Collect and Why
- Account information (email address, authentication identifiers, subscription status) — to create and manage your account and provide the Service. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Content you submit (texts, prompts, voice/archetype selections) — to process your AI generation requests. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Usage and technical data (generation counts and timestamps, device and browser information, IP address, log data) — to enforce usage limits, secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — to respond to your inquiries. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Payment information — we do not store or process card details. All transactions are handled by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which collects billing data under its own privacy notice. We receive only the subscription status and identifiers needed to grant access. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation.
2. Who We Share Data With
We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:
- Merchant of Record: Paddle.com — for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, invoicing, and tax compliance.
- Service providers and subprocessors: cloud hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, and AI model providers (such as OpenAI and ElevenLabs) used to generate your outputs.
- Professional advisers: legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
- Authorities: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data, and your inputs are not used to train public AI models.
3. International Transfers
Some of our providers are located outside the UK/EEA, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Data Retention and Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security — to protect your data. Generated audio and submitted text are processed to fulfil your request and are not retained as a permanent library on our servers. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months afterwards; usage and security logs are retained for up to 12 months; records required for tax and accounting are retained for the period required by law. Data is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.

- Request correction, erasure, or restriction of your personal data.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and request data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
